On the 13th of December, we celebrate the national day of Forró, the predominant music genre of northeastern Brazil, and the birthday of LUIZ GONZAGA, king of baião. They took over the programming of Brazilian radio stations in the late 1940s until the mid-1950s and built the popularity of the artist and the genre, opening space for Northeastern popular culture in the Brazilian musical universe.
